Peter Torrellas is the vice president and partner for Digital Cities and Infrastructure at Siemens Advanta, the digital transformation consultancy and professional services arm of the global technology powerhouse. In this role, he leads a team of diverse innovators and visionaries in consulting,  professional services, solutions, and software development to enable the vision of our public and private sector clients on their digital journeys.

Peter has dedicated the last 20 years of his life to leading digital transformation across various areas of infrastructure, mobility, buildings, energy, and water.  In the late nineties, Peter founded own software company that supported Y2K programs.  His world came full circle after successfully designing, integrating, and delivering over $500M in software, hardware, and IT for New York City’s subway – a project that included the train he rode as a child – sparking his purpose.

While Peter’s career has spanned from crisis management of large-scale industrial software systems to building new products to sales and management, it has always focused on transformation and upgrading infrastructure to make the world a better place. Peter is excited to make an even greater impact by leveraging Advanta’s combined expertise and technology ecosystem to empower clients to transform their everyday.

Prior to joining Siemens Advanta, Peter was most recently head of Smart Cities and Communities at Siemens Smart Infrastructure, which included smart buildings, water, energy efficiency, production, and procurement, as well as resiliency, sustainability, IoT, and finance. Additionally, as Chief Technology Officer at Siemens Infrastructure & Cities, Peter was at the forefront of the smart city movement with a portfolio that included logistics, aviation, passenger and freight rail, ports, and road and city mobility.

Torrellas’ expertise managing a diverse infrastructure portfolio has positioned him as an expert in the industry. He is a nationally recognized thought leader in the implementation of technologies across several asset classes and has been hosted by the United Nations, World Bank Group, United Sates Conference of Mayors, National Governor's Association, National Academies of Sciences, International City and County Managers Association and many others to discuss the role of technology in our lives.

A self-proclaimed computer nerd, Peter also enjoys mentoring, reading, and listening to music. He tries to catch the sunrise each morning and loves spending time with his wife and children.
